How does the production process work?
The fibres are made from plant-based raw materials. The Icelandic seaweed comes from naturally growing seaweed fields. During harvesting, only the upper part of the seaweed is removed, allowing it to grow again. The harvested seaweed is then roughly chopped, ground and evenly incorporated into the cellulose fibre. At CALIDA, the seaweed is combined with the MicroModal® man-made fibre from Austrian manufacturer Lenzing AG.
What properties do SeaCell™ products have?
Together with MicroModal®, SeaCell™ fibre combines the properties of two materials from different sources.
