Practical ideas for bra storage: Protect your bras & keep an overview

Bras are one of the most important items of clothing for many women. This is not only because the bras conjure up a beautiful cleavage. They also provide the necessary support during the day and thus ensure greater comfort, self-confidence, and a general sense of well-being. Throwing them carelessly over the chair in the evening doesn’t do justice to the important role of the bra. In this article, we show you what bra storage could look like instead.

3 tips for more organisation in the underwear drawer

Do you think that organising underwear is time-consuming and takes far too much time? Then you don’t know our tips for storing bras yet. These three little tricks are not only quick and easy to implement, but also protect your bras and give you a better overview of your favourite lingerie. This will save you a lot of time looking for the right bra in the future.

Tip 1: Storing bras loose in the wardrobe – but how?

It doesn’t take much to organise bras. To be more precise, it’s sufficient if you can spare a drawer or compartment in your wardrobe for bra storage. To prevent you from having to bend and twist your bras in the centre, this space should be wide enough.

Now you can line up your bras and place the cups inside each other. Make sure you fasten the bras beforehand so that the hooks don’t get caught in the other bras and destroy the fine lace. It also makes sense to create two rows. This way, you can sort your bras by colour and avoid the constant mess that comes with rummaging around for the right bra.

Tip 2: Practical organiser systems for the drawer

If you don’t want to put your bras loose in the wardrobe or drawer, you can use practical storage boxes. These are foldable organisers with separate compartments that are precisely adapted to the width of a bra. This allows you to store your bras in a space-saving way.

The advantage over loose storage is that you don’t have to sort your bras by colour or close them before sorting, as the bras are separated from each other. You can also keep a good overview of your lingerie. To avoid chaos in the entire underwear drawer, the organisers are also available with smaller compartments. Here you can sort and organise your briefs and socks individually.

Tip 3: No space in your wardrobe? Hang bras on hangers!

For our previous tips, the appropriate space in the wardrobe is needed. If it’s already occupied or you prefer to hang out bras instead of putting them in the wardrobe, you can also simply hang your bras on a hanger. The best way to do this is to use special hangers, like the ones you can find in shops. You can simply clip on the underbust band of your bras.

You can also hang your bras on normal hangers. Notches on both sides are an advantage to prevent your bra straps from slipping down. To attach several bras on one hanger, there are hangers with hooks: so-called belt hangers. If you hang several bras on one hanger or in a row on your clothes rail, make sure that you always fasten them.

No-gos & common mistakes when storing bras

Keeping bras organised is no rocket science if you keep a few things in mind. To prevent your bras from deforming or breaking, you should avoid the following mistakes when storing your bras:

  • Store bras open

  • Fold or twist bras in the centre

  • Store worn and unworn bras in the same place

  • Store bras disorganised in a compartment (only possible with bustiers)

  • Hanging bras on just one strap

  • Press bras together or smooth them out

To keep your bras in shape for as long as possible and to protect them, it’s not only important to store your bras, but also to clean them properly at low temperatures. To do this, place your bras individually in laundry bags and close the hooks to protect the rest of your clothes. Together with underwear in similar colours, you can protect light-coloured bras in particular from discolouration.
