Breast cancer remains one of the most common forms of cancer in women, which is why it is important to promote research and prevention, as well as provide assistance to those affected and their families. The dedicated team at Pink Ribbon Schweiz also provides outstanding support by organising various events to give hope and confidence to those affected. On a sunny Sunday in September 2023, a team of 25 women from CALIDA joined around 5,000 other participants at the Stadion Letzigrund in Zurich to complete this year’s Breast Cancer Charity Walk. Led by the Power of the Pink Ribbon community, the team embarked upon the four-kilometre walk, thereby sending an important signal.

In addition to this sporting activity, the annual Charity Walk also has a varied supporting programme: alongside musical show acts, food stalls and interactive stands from Pink Ribbon partners, CALIDA was also represented for the first time this year with its own stand at the Pink Ribbon Charity Walk in the famous stadium. From product advice, through bra sizing, to a dice game, the CALIDA stand offered the approximately 5,000 participants of the Pink Ribbon Charity Walk 2023 a number of brand touchpoints, along with a platform for meeting CALIDA employees.

The Pink Ribbon Charity Walk 2023 in Zurich was not only an opportunity to raise money for breast cancer research, but also a powerful symbol of solidarity and support for those affected. Together, we can advance the fight against breast cancer, providing hope and support to those living with the disease.

The history of the Pink Ribbon Charity Walk

The Pink Ribbon Charity Walk is a world-renowned event dedicated to the fight against breast cancer. The initial idea was born in the US in the 1990s, when women began wearing pink ribbons to raise awareness of the importance of breast cancer prevention. This led to the formation of the Pink Ribbon Foundation and the launch of the Pink Ribbon Charity Walk. The event has now evolved into an international movement, bringing people from all walks of life together to raise money for research and support for those living with breast cancer.

The purpose of the Pink Ribbon Charity Walk is not only to raise money, but also to educate people and increase awareness of breast cancer. By participating in such events, people can show their support and become actively involved in this issue.

Wearing a pink ribbon is a symbol of solidarity and support for the women affected. Throughout the month, donations are collected to promote research, as well as to fund education and prevention programmes. Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a sign of hope, love and support for those affected by the disease.
