Turn this Easter into an open-air adventure.
Easter is a great time to discover something new or spend time with your family and friends. Here are three great Easter activities in Switzerland:
Switzerland has a fantastic and unmissable variety of plants. By visiting greenhouses or botanical gardens, you can not only learn about nature, but also be inspired by the beauty of the flora around us. We recommend the following fascinating destinations:
Ticino: San Grato Botanical Garden
A stunning garden to the south of Ticino with a magnificent array of flowers. Various themed trails lead you through an impressive natural landscape and provide information about the ornamental vegetation.
Basel: University Botanical Garden
The Botanical Garden in Basel is one of the oldest in the world! First opened in 1589, it now houses overs 7,500 different plant species.
Graubünden: Alpinum – Schatzalp Botanical Garden
This impressive Alpine garden is located in the middle of picturesque Graubünden at an altitude of over 1,800 metres. The diverse collection of plants, spread over a total area of around five hectares, is not to be missed!
When the weather is nice, it’s worth putting on your walking boots and breathing in the fresh mountain air. We highly recommend a spectacular panoramic trail, such as the rocky trail along the Rigi, for example, or a leisurely walk at ‘Les Pléiades’ in Vevey boasting wonderful views. Walking is a great activity that you can do in a group or on your own. 😊
The tulip festival in Morges (Vaud) on beautiful Lake Geneva starts on 1 April. Countless tulips will be on show in Morges until 14 May, accompanied by a varied programme of entertainment and activities. From flower arranging workshops through to digital egg hunts and a circus performance, the tulip festival has something for everyone, both young and old alike.
