While we sleep, our bodies may be resting, but they’re still doing work for us in the background. When we sleep, we shed skin cells and, depending on the temperature, we may sweat a lot. Over time, more and more bacteria will collect on the fabric.
To keep our skin and pyjamas clean, it is therefore important that we regularly wash and change our sleepwear.
We recommend washing pyjamas after every two to three days of wear. If you’re someone who sweats a lot then you may want to consider changing your pyjamas daily.
Make sure you check the care symbols on the label so you know how to wash your pyjamas properly, because every material is different and requires different care. Usually, you’re best off opting for a gentle wash cycle at 30 degrees. For the sake of the environment, make sure that nightwear is washed together with other laundry. This way, multiple wash cycles can be avoided.
You can get sleepwear that fulfils special functions, so that your sleep is as comfortable as possible. Functional pyjamas are recommended for people who sweat profusely, but also for people who get cold quickly. Those with a high proportion of cotton, for example, will have a warming effect, while pyjamas made of TENCEL™, Lyocell or ROICA™ will have a cooling effect.
