1. Keep your bedroom dark, even during the day

The Italian solution will ensure that your bedroom is a comfortable temperature at night. This means keeping your doors and windows closed after 11:00 am at the latest, so that the heat can’t flow into your home. It should only be aired early in the morning or late at night.

2. Have a lukewarm shower before going to bed

A cold shower is certainly tempting, but you won’t stay feeling refreshed for long. The cold water actually makes the blood vessels constrict and the body then warms up.

3. Use functional sleepwear

Sleepwear made of fibres from natural origins, and with additional functional properties, will keep you feeling comfortable. Sweat is wicked away from the body, creating a feel-good freshness.

4. High-quality mattresses and duvets

High-quality mattresses and duvets have a cooling effect and transfer moisture. Every night, you lose up to 0.5 l of moisture. Duvets made from natural materials are perfect for absorbing this.

5. Burn off some energy before going to bed – although not too late!

Physical activity is a proven means of preparing for a good night’s sleep. However, you should remember to finish your sporting activity at least two hours before bedtime. This will still give you enough time to unwind afterwards.

6. No heavy food in the evening!

For your evening meal, you should make sure that high-protein food like chicken, eggs or dairy products are on the menu, as these have a sleep-inducing effect. Drinking too much alcohol also disrupts sleep, although a refreshing glass of beer certainly shouldn’t do any harm.

7. Still not sleeping?

Don't torture yourself from one side to the other when you have sleeplessness. Instead, get yourself something unsweetened to drink (room temperature) and read a few pages in a book.
