World Environment Day: Giving back to nature
5 June is International Environment Day, which is an important symbol worldwide that each and every individual can do something to preserve our nature. In order to contribute to the preservation of our environment, CALIDA strives for ever newer and voluntary commitments to set long-term standards in the entire fashion industry. Since 2018, we have been developing a range of styles with a focus on a circular economy and biodegradability of our materials.

Celebrate Environment Day with a positive impact!
The international World Environment Day takes place annually on the 5th of June. The day was first proclaimed by the United Nations (United Nations Environment Programme, UNEP) at the UN World Environment Summit in Stockholm in 1972 and has been a recurring day of action ever since. In the meantime, around 150 different countries participate in World Environment Day every year. It is intended to raise global awareness for the protection of our environment and to encourage people to do something for our planet. We all need to treat our earth sustainably so that we can continue to live well on it for a long time to come.
We think World Environment Day is great for making sustainable issues more accessible. On days like this, we want to raise awareness about the problems we have to deal with today. We all have the opportunity to contribute to the preservation of our environment. For us, doing something for nature does not mean doing without, but diversity. Since 2018, we have been constantly developing new styles and looks that meet the strict criteria of the voluntary Cradle to Cradle Certified® standard. Cradle to Cradle Certified® confirms that all components of a product can be returned to the biological cycle. Instead of waste, biological nutrients are created for renewable raw materials, from which new clothing can be made again and again.
